Description:
Cruise is a self-driving service focused on building advanced self-driving vehicles to enhance safety and freedom of movement.
The Machine Learning Orchestration team is responsible for developing a workflow management platform that accelerates the development cycle for machine learning workflows and data processing.
The Staff Software Engineer will lead initiatives within the ML Orchestration team, focusing on scaling the platform and developing automation tools for users.
The role involves designing, implementing, and testing scalable distributed computing solutions using cloud technologies like GCP and Azure.
The engineer will take ownership of technical projects, contribute to the product roadmap, and manage technical trade-offs.
Collaboration with team members through planning, code reviews, and design discussions is essential, along with mentoring engineers and interns.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience, with a strong background in large-scale distributed systems preferred.
A minimum of 3+ years of experience leading large-scale initiatives is required.
Proficiency in building scalable infrastructure on the cloud using programming languages such as Python, C++, or Golang is necessary.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain systems at scale.
A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
A passion for self-driving technology and strong attention to detail is essential.
A proven track record of efficiently solving complex problems and a startup mentality is preferred.
