Description:
OpenSea is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to prevent, detect, and respond to security incidents impacting the company, both on and off chain.
The role involves developing and deploying cutting-edge tools, shaping detection and response strategies, and fostering a culture of security within the organization.
Responsibilities include designing a detection platform for processing log data, developing infrastructure for data integration, architecting automated solutions for threat detection, and implementing monitoring systems for security hardening.
The engineer will also automate detection workflows, collaborate with engineering teams to embed security measures, and utilize programming skills to maintain detection tooling and build custom integrations.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with expertise in forensics, malware analysis, intrusion detection, and incident response.
Proficiency with AWS (preferred), GCP, or other cloud providers is required.
A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in detection engineering, rules development, and SIEM tools (e.g., ELK, Splunk) is necessary.
Start-up experience is preferred.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, PowerShell, Node.js, C#, Python, or Ruby is essential.
Candidates should have deep knowledge of threat modeling aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and Lockheed Killchain model.
SANS certification (504, 508, 578) is a bonus.
A strong interest in blockchain technology, with either prior experience or a significant curiosity to learn, is desired.
Benefits:
The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $185,000 to $340,000, depending on qualifications, in addition to benefits and equity.
