Description:
The Staff Security Engineer will lead the development and implementation of strategies to detect and respond to security threats across 1Password.
This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the security posture and protect assets against emerging threats.
The position offers the opportunity to significantly impact the safeguarding of systems and data against cyber threats.
The role is fully remote within the US or Canada.
Requirements:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in a security role focusing on Detection Engineering, Incident Response, Digital Forensics, and/or Threat Intelligence is required.
Expertise in designing, building, and fine-tuning systems and processes for detection engineering is essential.
Proficiency in SIEM and SOAR solutions for enhancing behavior analytics and security automations is necessary.
Experience with Detection-as-Code to automate detection engineering workflows is required.
Candidates must have experience in building logging pipelines for log ingestion into a centralized system.
Proven experience leading and collaborating on complex and ambiguous cross-functional projects from design through implementation is needed.
Experience in leading security incidents to resolution with various incident responders and stakeholders is required.
Familiarity with runtime security, EDR, and forensic analysis tools on various operating systems is necessary.
A strong understanding of the current threat landscape and threat actor TTPs is essential.
Experience with threat hunting and log analysis to identify potential security or privacy impacts is required.
Candidates should have experience deploying cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP) and a strong understanding of cloud security principles.
Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for data analysis, automation, and tool development is necessary.
Experience with the software development lifecycle, project management, Terraform, and CI/CD in GitLab or GitHub is required.
Excellent communication skills with a drive for collaboration and mentoring team members are essential.
A passion for fostering psychological safety and stability in high-stress environments is required.
Benefits:
The annual base salary for this role ranges from $187,000 to $253,000 USD for USA-based roles, and from $168,000 to $228,000 CAD for Canada-based roles.
