Description:

The Staff Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining tooling, software, and systems for securing the cloud infrastructure at 1Password.
They will own the delivery and success of infrastructure security projects that impact multiple engineering teams and departments.
The role involves partnering with security and infrastructure engineers to create technical strategies and visions for securing the infrastructure.
The engineer will work with cross-functional partners to define the best security solutions for the infrastructure while reducing unnecessary friction and maintaining high software development velocity.
Providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineers within the team and across security and engineering organizations is a key aspect of the role.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years combined experience as a software, infrastructure, and/or security engineer.
Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, deploying, securing, and monitoring highly-available, critical production systems with broad company impact.
Experience in designing and building identity, authentication, and authorization systems and infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with various technologies and approaches in cloud infrastructure and security spaces.
Expertise with AWS Service Control Policies and permission boundaries.
Experience with software development, with a preference for Golang.
Effective cross-functional communication skills and the ability to build strong technical partnerships with stakeholders.
Ability to translate technical and compliance requirements into engineering execution.
Prioritization skills, project execution capabilities, and the ability to create roadmaps for future work.
Experience with technologies used at 1Password such as Terraform, Okta, Kubernetes, Linkerd, and AWS.

Competitive annual base salary between $187,000 USD and $253,000 USD for USA-based roles, and between $168,000 CAD and $228,000 CAD for Canada-based roles.
