Description:
Wrapbook is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join their team and enhance their security measures across applications, infrastructure, and architecture.
The role involves being a hands-on technical leader ensuring systems meet rigorous security standards from design through implementation and operation.
The ideal candidate will have strong application development expertise, focusing on Application and Product security, and will primarily drive impact through cross-functional projects.
Responsibilities include defining and executing elements of the security roadmap, assessing risks, and strengthening the security culture within the organization.
In the first year, the engineer will assess current application and product security capabilities, master technical architecture, foster relationships with engineering teams, collaborate with GRC and IT peers, define security requirements, participate in on-call rotations, and help build an effective security culture.
Requirements:
The position requires at least 8 years of direct security experience.
Candidates must have broad security expertise and knowledge of core concepts such as confidentiality, availability, least privilege, integrity, RBAC, and OWASP top ten.
Deep application security knowledge is essential, with the ability to evaluate feature design risks and integrate security tools into the application stack.
Understanding of cloud and infrastructure security, including cloud-native network architecture, is required to recommend appropriate security controls.
Candidates should have web application or software development experience, with the ability to read and write code (preferably Ruby and Ruby on Rails) and assess application stack security.
Experience in technical project management is necessary, with the ability to break complex challenges into actionable phases.
A motivated problem solver with critical thinking and curiosity is preferred, along with strong virtual collaboration skills and technical leadership qualities.
