Remote Staff Security Engineer - Security Operations

Description:

• Foodsmart is seeking a Staff Security Engineer - Security Operations to oversee the security operations function and ensure the safety and resilience of the organization against evolving threats.
• This role involves monitoring, detecting, responding to, and mitigating security risks that could impact Foodsmart’s systems, data, employees, and customers.
• The engineer will implement advanced security measures, oversee incident response efforts, and proactively identify vulnerabilities.
• Responsibilities include real-time monitoring of security events, improving threat detection capabilities, leading incident response efforts, conducting threat hunting exercises, and performing risk assessments.
• The engineer will develop playbooks for attack scenarios, automate repetitive tasks, collaborate with IT and DevOps teams, and support compliance initiatives.
• The ideal candidate is a vigilant professional who thrives under pressure, anticipates potential threats, and communicates effectively with both technical teams and executives.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience in security operations or information security roles with a proven track record in safeguarding critical systems.
• Expertise in managing SIEM platforms, SOAR tools, EDR/XDR solutions, and other advanced monitoring technologies is required.
• Deep knowledge of modern attack techniques and incident response best practices is essential.
• Experience conducting threat hunting exercises across multi-cloud environments, SaaS applications, and endpoints is necessary.
• Strong scripting or coding skills in Python or similar languages for automating workflows within SecOps tools are required.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST CSF, or CCPA is important.
• Preferred certifications include GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
