Remote Staff/ Senior Robotics Engineer (C++) (f/m/d)

Description:

• FERNRIDE is seeking a Staff/Senior Robotics Engineer (C++) to join their team in Munich.
• The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain high-quality software solutions primarily for the automotive industry.
• The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in C++ and proficiency in Python, along with a solid understanding of software design and architecture.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining software solutions in C++, designing and optimizing software, collaborating with the development team, participating in code reviews, debugging and improving existing software, and contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have strong proficiency in C++ and a good working knowledge of Python.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, and build tools such as Bazel is required.
• Experience with CI pipelines and automated testing frameworks is necessary.
• A solid understanding of software design principles and architecture is essential.
• Hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is required.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to challenges are necessary.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are required.
• Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with automotive coding standards, robotics experience in safe perception, safety certification of perception-based robotics, knowledge of design patterns and algorithms, real-time operating systems, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and familiarity with other programming languages such as Java or MATLAB/Simulink.
