Description:

Replicant is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to help scale the infrastructure and systems that power the company.
The role involves optimizing data management and delivery, enhancing software application connectivity, and balancing engineering autonomy with standardization.
The core technology stack includes TypeScript/NodeJS and Python within a Kubernetes environment on GCP, along with tools like Helm, Terraform, Datadog, and Prometheus.
Responsibilities include forming and executing long-term initiatives for the smooth operation and high availability of production systems, identifying opportunities for system performance improvements, and partnering with engineering teams to enhance application reliability and scalability.
The engineer will participate in on-call rotations, coach senior SREs in infrastructure design, and stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

Candidates must have proven experience in managing and troubleshooting complex, distributed systems in a production environment.
A strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably GCP, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes is required.
Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools such as Python, Bash, and Terraform is necessary.
Experience with monitoring and observability systems like Datadog and Prometheus is essential.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential issues are required.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively in a team environment.
A passion for ensuring the reliability and performance of critical systems is expected.
