Description:
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer at Crisis Text Line, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform.
Your role will involve architecting, building, scaling, and maintaining the tooling that supports software engineering teams and the infrastructure enabling staff and volunteers to provide mental health support.
You will provide technical leadership within the SRE team, collaborate with developers to optimize performance, implement best practices, and maintain a secure environment.
Responsibilities include infrastructure management, automation, incident response, communication, and collaboration.
The position requires a strong background in infrastructure management and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience as a Staff SRE or in a similar role, focusing on infrastructure and DevOps.
Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible) and knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and a commitment to ethical practices, data privacy, and security.
