Description:

  • ClickUp is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the stability, availability, and reliability of its cloud-based infrastructure.
  • The role involves designing and building systems for maximum performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering teams on product design, troubleshooting, and increasing stability and observability metrics.
  • The engineer will champion the monitoring infrastructure and implement improvements to site reliability posture, including managing error and downtime budgets.
  • The position requires responding to downtime events and developing safeguards to prevent future incidents.
  • Participation in brainstorming sessions with the engineering team to contribute ideas to technology and algorithms is also expected.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have 4-6+ years of experience with the Amazon Web Services ecosystem, including EC2, ECS, VPC, Redis, RDS, ALB, and ECR.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and managing production-critical infrastructures is essential, along with a DevOps mindset.
  • Familiarity with SRE best practices and procedures is required.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CDK or Terraform, and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or ArgoCD is necessary.
  • Knowledge of containerization using Docker and best practices in network, firewall, and security is important.
  • Experience with self-healing automation and monitoring tools, such as DataDog or CloudWatch, is required.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Candidates should be strong self-starters, operationally focused, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with application security testing and familiarity with Node.js are considered a plus but are not mandatory.
  • Experience managing Linux-based EC2 instances is required.
