Description:
Crunchyroll is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer for the Data Engineering team to maintain and enhance the reliability of their data infrastructure.
The role involves ensuring the availability and performance of data services, which directly impacts decision-making within the organization.
Responsibilities include collaborating with data engineers and software engineers to develop and drive 100% automation, as well as best practices for deep monitoring and alerting.
The SRE team focuses on standardizing and implementing monitoring and alerting across all datastores to track key metrics like errors, latency, and throughput.
The position can be based in one of Crunchyroll's offices or can be fully remote within the United States.
The role reports to the Director of Data Engineering and is part of a team dedicated to improving load testing and optimizing data governance practices.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 12+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, database operations, or a related role with a focus on data platforms and operations.
Extensive experience with the AWS cloud platform and its data-related services is necessary.
Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, DevOps Guru, and DB Performance Insights is required.
Candidates should be proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Python or Java.
Experience with automation frameworks like Terraform or Cloud Formation is essential.
A strong understanding of performance metrics, database internals, and database systems (SQL, NoSQL) is required.
Experience in managing large-scale data infrastructures and implementing CI/CD pipelines and DataOps practices is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with data governance, compliance, and lifecycle management.
The ability to own and execute projects while collaborating effectively with the team is essential.
