Description:
Zscaler is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join a new team focused on building a product from the ground up for cloud-native platforms.
The role involves collaborating with the leadership team on product direction and engineering decisions.
Responsibilities include contributing to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, such as design, implementation, documentation, deployment, and operations.
The engineer will build product architecture that balances launch timelines with long-term scalability, articulating design tradeoffs as necessary.
Writing high-quality, efficient, and testable code while defining team standards in development and system design is essential.
The engineer will mentor junior team members, conduct code and design reviews, and partner with a product manager to iteratively deliver the product to customers.
Requirements:
Candidates must have strong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and advanced systems concepts.
A minimum of 5 years in information security is required, with at least 2 years focused on cloud security and prior experience in roles such as Security Architect or Principal Engineer in a CWPP or CDR product.
An understanding of malware, threats, and vulnerabilities in cloud environments is necessary, along with proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including their security services and best practices.
Expertise in Kubernetes (AWS EKS) and container infrastructure is required, along with development experience in Go, Python, and Rust.
