Description:
Join Twilio as a Staff Software Engineer for the Segment Platform Team, focusing on creating high-quality solutions to complex engineering problems.
The role involves defining the future of Core Foundations and Governance Platform for the next generation Customer Data Platform (CDP).
Responsibilities include designing and developing a platform capable of processing billions of events and building a suite of products and platform capabilities.
You will build high-performance data pipelines using Go, Scala/Spark, and Kafka, and create scalable APIs for data ingestion and access.
The position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure services meet regulatory requirements and are multi-region capable.
Mentorship of other engineers on technical architecture and design is expected, along with participation in an on-call rotation for business-critical services.
Requirements:
A minimum of 8 years of experience writing production-grade code in Golang, Java, or Scala is required.
Strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, and performant distributed systems is essential.
Experience operating large-scale distributed systems on cloud infrastructure is necessary.
Proficiency in programming with Go, Java, Scala, or similar languages is required.
Hands-on experience with container orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes, EKS, or ECS is needed.
Experience working with data platforms or data pipelines is a must.
A deep understanding of architectural patterns for high-scale web applications is required.
Experience in shipping services following the CI/CD development paradigm is necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
