The Staff Software Engineer will help build a cloud-native machine learning platform for the world’s largest multi-analyte cancer genomics dataset.
The role involves applying modern engineering practices to create reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure production systems for clinical labs and research scientists.
The position reports to the Director of Cloud Infrastructure.
Responsibilities include providing leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, translating business strategies into plans, and monitoring departmental performance.
The engineer will also foster effective communication and collaboration within the team and across departments, lead by example, and support the company’s values and principles.
Requirements:
A B.S. or M.S. in computer science or a related technical field, or comparable experience is required.
A minimum of 8 years of experience with production infrastructure, automation, and monitoring is necessary, with a proven track record in a high-functioning team.
Multi-public cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) is essential.
Deep knowledge and proven experience in managing Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure services, networking, and security are required.
Experience with automation tools and infrastructure-as-code techniques is a key requirement.
Familiarity with production deployment automation tools, such as Terraform or Pulumi, is necessary.
Proven experience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices is required.
Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting distributed systems is essential.
Software design and development expertise, particularly in Python, is required.
Practical knowledge of Linux internals is necessary.
A systematic problem-solving approach, effective communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership and drive are essential.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills are required.
Benefits:
The target salary range for new hires in the US is $188,275 - $288,500.
Employees will be eligible for pre-IPO equity and cash bonuses.
