Description:

Matterport is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team.
Responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and deployment of new features and services.
Collaborate with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, engineers, and QA.
Build APIs, backend services, and integrations supporting Matterport products.
Advocate for good engineering practices and contribute to a learning culture.
Mentor and coach junior engineers to reach their full potential.
Work with relational and non-relational data stores using Kotlin, Python, and front-end technologies.
Must be comfortable in an api-heavy, microservices environment and handle billions of requests monthly.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience designing and delivering features in a cloud environment.
Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Kotlin for developing SaaS solutions.
Familiarity with Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Git.
Experience with non-relational data stores like FoundationDB.
Strong problem-solving skills in platform development.
Knowledge of microservices, containers, and UI frameworks like React or Angular.
Track record of developing testable, maintainable code.
Ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
