Remote Staff Software Engineer

Description:

• Matterport is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team.
• Responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and deployment of new features and services.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, engineers, and QA.
• Build APIs, backend services, and integrations supporting Matterport products.
• Advocate for good engineering practices and contribute to a learning culture.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to reach their full potential.
• Work with relational and non-relational data stores using Kotlin, Python, and front-end technologies.
• Must be comfortable in an api-heavy, microservices environment and handle billions of requests monthly.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing and delivering features in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Kotlin for developing SaaS solutions.
• Familiarity with Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Git.
• Experience with non-relational data stores like FoundationDB.
• Strong problem-solving skills in platform development.
• Knowledge of microservices, containers, and UI frameworks like React or Angular.
• Track record of developing testable, maintainable code.
• Ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
