Remote Staff Software Engineer

Description:

• The Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backbone of the tech infrastructure at .txt.
• This role involves working in a fast-paced environment where the engineer's contributions will directly impact the efficiency and scalability of products and services.
• The position requires expertise in Python programming to build robust backend systems, solve complex problems, and drive innovation.
• Responsibilities include building and maintaining efficient, reliable Python code for LLM backend systems, collaborating with compiler and research engineers, optimizing backend components for high throughput, and maintaining high code quality through code reviews and testing.

Requirements:

• Professional experience as a Python backend/systems developer, with knowledge of frameworks such as FastAPI, Twisted, and ASGI.
• Understanding of API development, with the ability to write custom frameworks while preferring community-supported software.
• Expertise in large-scale distributed systems and asynchronous network programming.
• Experience with CI/CD practices, Docker, and deployment on cloud providers like AWS.
• A strong appreciation for simplicity and the ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Bonus qualifications include contributions to open source, previous experience building developer tools, and knowledge of Go or Rust.
