Description:
FarmRaise is hiring a Staff Software Engineer who will report to Rachel Boy, Staff Software Engineer.
In this role, you will work with a small team of 2-3 engineers, maintaining a high standard of code quality and development velocity.
You will work autonomously, delivering bug-free code and making key technical decisions.
You will define technical specs for features, ensuring alignment between design, PM, and engineering teams.
You will collaborate as needed with stakeholders to clarify goals and drive product development.
You will contribute across the entire stack, from front-end to back-end, databases, and deployment.
You will make sound architectural decisions that account for both current needs and our growing platform.
You will engage in code reviews and design discussions to raise team standards for lean, effective development.
The compensation for this position ranges from $161,000 to $190,000 per year, with equity granted via the employee stock option pool.
The position is fully remote with regular all-team retreats.

Requirements:
You must have played an engineering role at a startup that has scaled from seed to Series B.
You should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to collaborate with PMs or business stakeholders to shape plans.
You need to be an independent problem solver who can temporarily wear the PM or design hat to keep things moving when blockers arise.
You should be a T-shaped engineer with deep expertise in one area but comfortable working across the entire stack when necessary.
You must have technical leadership experience, enjoying leading small project teams and mentoring others in writing efficient, clean, and scalable code.
Familiarity with technologies such as React, Typescript, Next.js, Dart, Flutter for frontend; Node.js, Kotlin, Spring Boot for backend; AWS, GCP for cloud; and DevOps practices is required.
Bonus points for strong expertise in backend systems and DevOps, experience leading small teams, and the ability to maintain code quality through reviews and design discussions.
