Description:

The position is for a Staff Software Systems Engineer specializing in Machine Learning Platform Development, focusing on Python, Spark, and PySpark.
The role requires 8 to 12 years of experience and is available for remote work or in Bangalore, India.
Responsibilities include being a thought leader to drive innovative visions for products and platforms, designing and launching strategic machine learning solutions, and fostering business-wide innovation.
The candidate will lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, which includes design, testing, deployment, and operations.
The role involves leading technical discussions, participating in design and code reviews, and implementing high-performance, production-ready machine learning code for a next-generation real-time ML platform.
The engineer will work closely with other engineers and scientists to accelerate model development, validation, and experimentation cycles, integrating models and algorithms into production systems at scale.
Mentoring and developing other engineers on the team, establishing technical direction, and fostering team culture are also key responsibilities.
The candidate is expected to uphold high standards of technical rigor in engineering and operational excellence, building resilient and scalable systems while championing operational and process improvements.

Requirements:

A degree in mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline is required.
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in the complete software development lifecycle, including design, coding, code reviews, testing, build processes, deployments, and operations.
Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python or Java, with 5+ years of programming experience is necessary.
The candidate should have 3+ years of experience in leading the design and architecture of large distributed systems, preferably on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with distributed data and machine learning technologies, including MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, PySpark, and SageMaker, is required.
The candidate should have experience as a mentor, tech lead, or in leading an engineering team.
The ability to tackle highly complex, ambiguous, or undefined problems is essential.
