Description:

River is building a trusted financial institution powered by bitcoin, aiming for widespread bitcoin savings and business integration.
The company seeks a Staff Software Engineer who is proficient across the entire web stack and has experience in building and maintaining production systems at scale.
This role involves leading the engineering team, setting high-quality standards, and mentoring other team members.
The web stack primarily consists of Elixir (Phoenix and LiveView) with Postgres for data storage.
Responsibilities include architecting and developing new features and products, collaborating with product management, presenting solutions to senior leadership, leading technical solutions for complex projects, writing high-quality code, participating in code reviews, mentoring team members, and identifying technical roadblocks.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
Experience in designing, building, and maintaining production services at scale is required, along with an understanding of building reliable systems.
Applicants should write high-quality, reliable code and take ownership of the systems they work on.
Experience in developing solutions to ambiguous problems is necessary.
A strong interest in River's mission and products is essential.
A solid understanding of web security fundamentals is required.
Candidates should have a desire to mentor and support other team members.

The position offers a 100% remote option within the Americas and Europe, with offices located in San Francisco, New York City, and Columbus.
The salary range is between $200,000 - $250,000, depending on skills and experience.
