Remote Staff Software Engineer - Access, Trust

Description:

• Cash App is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Access organization to maximize trust and expand access to the ecosystem.
• The role involves managing authentication, sessions, authorization, and protecting against account takeover and inauthentic logins.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, and operating APIs and services for authentication flows, contributing to account security, and evolving architecture to scale with growth.
• The position requires collaboration with product management and design to develop new experiences, working on large monolith codebases and microservices, and participating in live support rotation.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in building and operating quality software.
• Demonstrated technical initiative and leadership on previous projects.
• Growth mindset, comfort with ambiguity, strong communication skills, and customer empathy.
• Experience contributing to the growth of development capabilities through leading, mentoring, and supporting fellow engineers.
• Preferred experience with authN/authZ standards or product security, working in large codebases, breaking apart monoliths, and in a distributed team.
