Reddit is a community-driven platform with over 100,000 active communities and approximately 82 million daily active unique visitors.
The Ads Foundations organization combines Ads Engineering, Product, ML Systems, and Experimentation efforts to optimize ad delivery to users.
The Ads Serving Platform team is responsible for the pipeline that integrates various components of the ad serving process.
Key responsibilities include evolving the Ads tech stack, balancing the needs of advertisers and users, enhancing engineering velocity, standardizing cloud resources and data observability, and optimizing cost of revenue tracking.
The Staff Software Engineer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of the backend infrastructure for ad serving.
The role involves architecting scalable solutions, collaborating with other teams, optimizing performance, managing data strategies, mentoring engineers, and solving technical challenges.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
A proven track record as a technical leader in executing large-scale projects from inception to completion is required.
Experience in partnering with product managers and designers to create user-facing products is essential.
Applicants should have experience in addressing complex system scaling and latency performance issues.
Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration in a remote environment and for discussing complex topics with diverse audiences.
Extensive software development experience in one or more general-purpose languages such as Python, Golang, Rust, Java, or C++ is required.
Experience with infrastructure observability is also necessary.
Bonus points for candidates with ads industry experience and knowledge of infrastructure performance metrics and cost efficiency.
Preferred qualifications include experience with ads, technical program management, and contributions in DevOps, infrastructure, or high scalability/big data systems.
