Description:
Smartcar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their OEM Adapter Engineering team.
The role involves providing technical leadership and strategic guidance for the development, maintenance, and optimization of vehicle manufacturer (OEM) integrations.
Responsibilities include architecting and designing OEM adapter integrations, driving the technical direction of the team, and optimizing API and data flow.
The position emphasizes technical excellence, architectural leadership, and collaboration with other engineering teams.
The role is remote within the United States.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 15+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
Proven expertise in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable APIs and OEM integrations is required.
A strong background in providing architectural guidance and leading cross-functional engineering efforts is necessary.
Hands-on experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, along with proficiency in Python and Go, is essential.
Familiarity with event-based architectures (e.g., Kinesis, Kafka, RabbitMQ) and streaming platforms is required.
Experience with OEM vehicle data integrations and automotive protocols is desirable.
Proficiency in AWS or other cloud platforms, with hands-on experience in designing scalable cloud-based solutions, is needed.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to mentor engineers and guide teams through complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills and experience working closely with product managers and other stakeholders are required.
Benefits:
The base salary ranges from $180,000 to $225,000, determined by years of experience.
Employees receive equity as part of their compensation.
The position offers remote work within the United States.
