Description:

  • Jobber is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their AI Receptionist team, which focuses on an AI-powered assistant that handles customer calls and schedules appointments.
  • The role involves leading and mentoring teams of engineers while collaborating with Product and Design partners to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features, shaping the product roadmap, leading large-scale initiatives, participating in code reviews, and promoting best practices.
  • The position requires expertise in developing scalable software solutions and proven leadership experience in guiding teams through high-impact projects.
  • The work environment is remote in Canada, with options for hybrid work from offices in Edmonton or Toronto.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in developing highly scalable and robust software solutions across multiple technology stack layers.
  • Proven leadership experience in guiding teams through complex projects and serving as a technical lead is essential.
  • Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding, focusing on maintainability and performance is required.
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
  • Strong self-motivation and resourcefulness, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks effectively in dynamic environments, are crucial.
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends is expected.
  • Experience with the development stack including React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, and Ruby on Rails on AWS is preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-team initiatives and projects is a plus.
