  • The Staff Software Engineer - AI Workflow Development will lead the technical vision and implementation of intelligent agents across the operational platform.
  • This role will leverage large language models (LLMs) to optimize pharmacy workflows, automate processes, and summarize documentation for better decision-making.
  • The position reports to the Head of Engineering and involves collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to implement AI solutions in a regulated environment.
  • Responsibilities include designing and deploying LLM-powered agents, leading architecture decisions, collaborating with stakeholders, maintaining internal tooling, and championing responsible AI practices.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Candidates must have 6+ years of progressive experience in software engineering or applied AI, including at least 2 years working with LLMs or NLP technologies.
  • Proven experience in building and deploying LLM-powered tools or agents in production environments is essential.
  • Expertise in Python and familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or RAG architectures is required.
  • A strong understanding of prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, vector search, and summarization techniques is necessary.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects and influencing technical roadmap decisions is important.
  • Candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities and complex workflows.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or pharmacy operations, including HIPAA-compliant data practices, is a bonus.
