Articul8 AI is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of backend APIs for scalable, secure, high-performance Generative AI services.
The role requires a builder with a "100x mindset" who can leverage modern AI tools to achieve significant outcomes.
Responsibilities include designing and building robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python, Go, or Rust, and architecting scalable systems for real-time AI/ML-powered applications.
The engineer will partner with ML engineers and frontend developers to deliver intelligent, user-facing features while ensuring performance, security, and reliability across hybrid environments.
The position involves leading technical architecture and long-term backend strategy, driving best practices for code quality, observability, and API design.
Mentoring engineers and fostering a high-performance, AI-augmented engineering culture is also a key aspect of the role.
The engineer will take ownership of customer deployments and support production excellence.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with proficiency in Python, Go, or Rust.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience is required.
Proven experience in designing and scaling APIs in cloud-native environments is essential.
Strong systems thinking, debugging skills, and a production engineering mindset are necessary.
Hands-on experience with modern infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) is required.
Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous services (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and databases (SQL/NoSQL) is expected.
A deep curiosity and a growth mindset, with a passion for learning, experimenting, and iterating, are important.
Candidates should be comfortable using AI tools to enhance their development workflow.
