Description:

SevenRooms is hiring a remote Staff Software Engineer with a backend focus.
The role involves engineering highly performant, mission-critical systems designed for agile development and rapid scaling.
You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to create solutions that empower SevenRooms for growth.
The team consists of 70+ engineering professionals, and you will report directly to an Engineering Leader.
The 7R Technology organization aims to build products that enhance restaurant experiences.

Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software with a focus on customer-facing features.
You will become an expert in the SevenRooms architecture and own major features and architectural changes.
The role includes managing project priorities, deadlines, code quality, and deliverables, as well as participating in on-call duties.

Requirements:

A BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent professional experience is required.
A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience is necessary.
Willingness to work with Python, Rust, and Kotlin; prior experience is preferred but not required.
Strong architectural vision and judgment are essential.
Knowledge of evolving best practices and advocacy for them is required.
Experience with migrating from monolith to decoupled architecture is necessary.
Experience in scaling engineering teams and mentoring junior developers is required.
Significant experience in developing web applications at scale is necessary.
A strong background in algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design is required.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies is essential.
