This Staff Software Engineer, Backend position is fully remote and open to candidates in the United States or Canada, with optional in-person collaboration opportunities in San Francisco.
The tech stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, Temporal, PostgreSQL, AWS for backend, and React and Vue for frontend.
Responsibilities include building new products and features, taking ownership of projects, delivering value to users, mentoring junior teammates, and contributing to the engineering culture.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of backend experience with strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
Experience in building and scaling distributed systems and managing complex asynchronous workflows is required, with a bonus for familiarity with Temporal or similar technologies.
Applicants should have a background in product-focused startups or rapidly growing technology companies.

The estimated starting base salary for this role ranges from $190K to $230K, depending on level, location, and experience, along with a generous pre-IPO equity package.
