• They are looking for a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Backend and ML Platform to join their AI-focused healthcare startup.
• The role involves contributing to the ML platform's extensibility, scalability, and security, prioritizing between customer deliverables and tech debt, designing complex frameworks for applying ML techniques, and delivering resilient enterprise software solutions.
• The ideal candidate should have a background in application programming, ML, SQL, Python, and at least one of Java, Scala, C++, or C#. They should possess a strong CS foundation, test writing discipline, and critical thinking skills.
• The position requires a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in application programming.
• ML background with production experience in building ML/AI infrastructure or tools.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries and Python.
• Familiarity with at least one of Java, Scala, C++, or C#.
• Strong CS foundation including data structures and asynchronous programming.
• Strong test writing discipline.
• Ability to read and understand complex enterprise-grade code, contribute to it, and suggest improvements.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a high-growth environment.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in taking the initiative when necessary.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
