Orum is an AI-driven, live conversation platform that enhances sales efficiency and lowers customer acquisition costs for companies of all sizes.
The Staff Software Engineer role involves working across the stack to deliver significant impact while mentoring other team members.
Responsibilities include building and owning features from conception to implementation, such as routing calls through an event-based SIP Softswitch and processing streaming audio for speech recognition.
The technology stack includes NodeJS with Typescript, Ruby, Postgres, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH.
Candidates must be based in Canada, as the position is not open to other countries.
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - 250,000 CAD, depending on experience.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a mentoring, tech lead, or engineering team leadership role is required.
At least 1+ years of experience in an architect, principal, or staff engineer role is necessary.
A proven track record of owning products and features throughout their lifecycles, from discovery to deployment, is essential.
Familiarity with NodeJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and React is required.
Experience in measuring and tuning the performance of NodeJS applications is necessary.
Candidates should be familiar with Unix shell scripting.
Experience with cloud infrastructure programming (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and building CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
