Remote Staff Software Engineer, Checkr Pay

Description:

• Checkr is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join Checkr X, the innovation program focused on developing new product bets for the company.
• The Staff Software Engineer will work on Checkr Pay, a full-service payments platform for the gig economy, enabling instant payments to gig workers at no cost.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with customers and teams to design, develop, and launch new products, taking ownership of web and mobile applications, and supporting customers through onboarding and implementation.
• The role involves designing, deploying new product experiments, ensuring code quality, and leveraging Checkr's ecosystem for development.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in full-stack software development, NodeJs/Javascript/TypeScript, React, and a strong sense of ownership and experimentation mindset.
• Nice-to-have skills include experience with microservices, security-first products, event-based architecture, and various payment rails.

Requirements:

• Founding or early roles at fast-paced startups.
• 7+ years of full stack software development experience.
• Advanced knowledge in NodeJs/Javascript/TypeScript and React.
• Strong product sense and experimentation mindset.
• Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and mentor junior engineers.
• Experience building scalable technical architecture and security-first products.
• Willingness to support customers and do things that don't scale.
