Remote Staff Software Engineer, Communication Systems

Description:

• Jobber is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Communication Systems team, which focuses on enabling customers to send messages (email and SMS) through Jobber.
• The team is responsible for sending over 20 million messages per month and collaborates with third-party services like Twilio and SendGrid.
• The role involves leading and mentoring engineering teams, collaborating with Product and Design partners, and tackling complex technical challenges.
• Responsibilities include conceptualizing, designing, and delivering high-impact features, leading large-scale initiatives, participating in code reviews, and promoting best practices.
• The position requires effective communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences and providing mentorship to team members.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in developing scalable and robust software solutions across multiple technology stack layers.
• Proven leadership experience in guiding teams through complex projects and serving as a technical lead is essential.
• Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding, focusing on maintainability and performance, is required.
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are necessary to enhance team productivity through mentorship and coaching.
• Strong self-motivation and resourcefulness, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments, are important.
• A passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends is expected.
• Experience with React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, and Ruby on Rails on AWS is preferred.
• Familiarity with complex Communication Systems and third-party integrations like Twilio and SendGrid is a plus.
