Description:
Jobber is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Communication Systems team, which focuses on enabling customers to send messages (email and SMS) through Jobber.
The team is responsible for sending over 20 million messages per month and collaborates with third-party services like Twilio and SendGrid.
The role involves leading and mentoring engineering teams, collaborating with Product and Design partners, and tackling complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities include conceptualizing, designing, and delivering high-impact features, leading large-scale initiatives, participating in code reviews, and promoting best practices.
The position requires effective communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences and providing mentorship to team members.
Requirements:
Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in developing scalable and robust software solutions across multiple technology stack layers.
Proven leadership experience in guiding teams through complex projects and serving as a technical lead is essential.
Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding, focusing on maintainability and performance, is required.
Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are necessary to enhance team productivity through mentorship and coaching.
Strong self-motivation and resourcefulness, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments, are important.
A passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends is expected.
Experience with React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, and Ruby on Rails on AWS is preferred.
Familiarity with complex Communication Systems and third-party integrations like Twilio and SendGrid is a plus.
