Bodo is looking for a Staff+ Software Engineer with a passion for large-scale SQL query engines to develop its revolutionary data platform.
The role requires a strong entrepreneurial spirit, extensive software design experience, and the ability to turn challenging technical ideas into reality.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and optimizing Bodo’s SQL query execution engine, tackling challenging technical projects, developing compute infrastructure, integrating with cloud platforms, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to open-source projects.

Requirements:

A Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in database query engine optimization.
Experience in optimizing large-scale parallel compute infrastructure is necessary.
Proficiency in developing and debugging complex systems, especially in C/C++, is required.
Familiarity with open-source query optimization frameworks like Apache Calcite, Apache Spark Catalyst, and Postgres Query Optimizer is essential.
Strong teamwork, communication skills, and attention to detail are important.
A passion for learning new technologies in query engines, compiler optimization, parallel computing, and HPC is expected.
