Description:
Attentive is seeking a self-motivated, highly driven Staff Software Engineer to join the Compute and Network team.
The team provides a compute and networking platform with reusable opinionated cloud components and tools for engineering teams.
Responsibilities include building and operating the core compute and networking infrastructure of Attentive's microservices architecture.
The infrastructure consists of AWS VPCs, TransitGateways, multicluster Kubernetes (EKS), Istio, and Cloudflare.
Tools used include Terraform and ArgoCD for Infrastructure as Code.
The role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, coordinating, and resolving complex infrastructure issues.
The engineer will orchestrate Kubernetes infrastructure across multiple networks and AWS accounts.
The position requires ownership of Infrastructure as Code orchestration for application teams to consume AWS cloud services.
The engineer will develop automation workflows to improve team efficiency and analyze system resources for efficiency, scalability, and stability.
Collaboration with other teams and business stakeholders is essential to deliver business initiatives.
The engineer will act as a technical leader and facilitate alignment across teams on project outcomes, priorities, and timelines.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure.
A strong understanding of best practices in infrastructure is required.
Experience in building infrastructure in a microservices architecture is necessary.
A background in software development is essential, with a passion for applying this experience to infrastructure.
Candidates should have experience building Infrastructure as Code self-serve platforms using Terraform.
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, and ArgoCD is required.
Passion for observability and experience with tools like Splunk, Nagios, Sensu, Datadog, and New Relic is important.
Candidates must be familiar with containers and container orchestration, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
Comfort with the OSI networking model and experience debugging or creating solutions from layer 7 to layer 3 is required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000 - $240,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.
