Remote Staff Software Engineer - Content Lake DX (Scale)

Description:

• As a Staff Software Engineer on the Content Lake Developer Experience team at Sanity.io, you will be responsible for building highly scalable and performant distributed systems that provide core content creation and querying capabilities.
• You will tackle challenging scalability issues, such as serving millions of requests per minute while ensuring content freshness, by exploring caching strategies, optimizing search stores, and potentially developing novel indexing solutions.
• Responsibilities include driving valuable product increments, leading critical incident responses, peer-reviewing code, testing, and upholding coding standards.
• You will mentor teammates, contribute to a culture of engineering excellence, and recommend product or process improvements.
• Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in computer science, experience in database programming, and a passion for staying updated on cutting-edge research.
• The role requires expertise in back-end languages, particularly Go and some Typescript/Node.js, and experience in building and running distributed applications at scale.
• Effective communication skills, empathy, and a background in product/SaaS companies are essential for success in this role.

Requirements:

• Strong foundational knowledge and interest in computer science, including algorithms, data structures, complexity theory, and statistics.
• Experience in database programming, information retrieval, and key/value stores.
• Passion for staying current with computer science research and sharing knowledge with the team.
• Ability to understand systems deeply, not just using databases but also knowing their implementations.
• Proven track record in building and running distributed applications at scale.
• Expertise in back-end languages, with a requirement to write in Go and some Typescript/Node.js.
