Description:

  • Jobber is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to lead the development and evolution of their platform.
  • The role involves working with the team to ideate, design, implement, and deliver impactful features iteratively to customers.
  • The Staff Software Engineer will collaborate with Product and Design to shape the roadmap, identify and spearhead larger initiatives, participate in code review and testing, and drive engineering solutions for consistent practices and reusable code.
  • Responsibilities also include facilitating group discussions, advocating for best practices, mentoring junior teammates, and explaining complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a team or project and acting as a technical leader.
  • Passion for learning and continuous growth.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, impeccable communication, and listening abilities.
  • Demonstrated software engineering experience in back-end architecture and building highly scalable software.
  • Strong software design and architecture skills, ability to ask questions, seek new information, and remain open to new ideas.
  • Self-serving attitude, initiative-taking, and resource-finding capabilities.
  • Attention to quality, experience in writing automated tests, and ability to navigate ambiguity/uncertainty.
