Description:
Warner Music Group is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their London Engineering team, focusing on software engineering in a full-time remote capacity.
The role involves building the next generation of Songkick, enhancing fan and artist interactions, and ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of concert data.
Responsibilities include backend development with a focus on API and service design, leading and mentoring engineering teams, scoping engineering tasks, participating in code reviews, and driving engineering excellence.
The engineer will also be responsible for writing and reviewing documentation, tackling technical debt, and ensuring security, privacy, and performance are prioritized in design.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and a desire to provide data that helps bring great music to larger audiences.
Requirements:
Candidates must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in backend development or data engineering is required.
Experience in building or developing large-scale customer and business-facing applications is essential.
Strong coding skills and the ability to communicate empathetically are necessary, along with great design skills.
A high sense of ownership and a drive to deliver impact in a fast-paced, evolving environment is expected.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to growth, learning, and mastering the craft of software development.
Expertise in Rails, Go, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, and BigQuery is a plus.
