Description:

Paradigm is creating a platform to enhance equitable access to clinical trials for all patients while improving trial efficiency.
The Data Engineering team is responsible for building Paradigm’s platform for clinical care information by ingesting data from various sources, including Electronic Health Records and lab providers.
The team aims to scale its architecture to support enhanced parallel data processing as data needs evolve.
Data Engineering enriches and harmonizes data for multiple consumers, including AI & Data Science teams and software application teams.
As a Staff Engineer on the Data team, you will work at the intersection of software and data, collaborating with product teams and data consumers to improve data quality and accessibility.
Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, collaborating with product managers and data scientists, shaping the engineering vision, designing data models, building data pipelines, and ensuring data privacy and security.

Requirements:

You must have extensive experience in driving technical projects and facilitating technical decisions across teams.
Deep expertise in SQL, data analysis, and data modeling is required, along with a strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud environments.
A proven track record in designing scalable, available, maintainable, and performant systems is essential.
Proficiency in coding (Python or other languages) and experience with ETL orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Dagster is necessary.
Familiarity with data transformation tools such as dbt or dataform is required.
Experience with data warehouse technologies like BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake is needed.
You should have 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, focusing on Data, cloud computing, or distributed systems.
