Remote Staff Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure

Description:

• Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Data Infrastructure team in New York City, NY.
• The role involves solving large scale batch and streaming data challenges.
• The Data Infrastructure team ingests over 100 billion analytics events daily into a data warehouse that handles over 55,000 queries each day.
• The engineer will lead the design and creation of the Snapshot product to deliver high-quality data to partners.
• Responsibilities include contributing to the long-term strategy of the team, refining data infrastructure technologies for real-time processing, owning tools for data ingestion and storage, and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of coding experience in a production setting, writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
• Experience with programming languages such as Scala, Go, or Java is necessary.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
• Candidates should have experience with Terraform, Helm, Kafka, CDC, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
