Remote Staff Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure

Description:

• Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Data Infrastructure team to tackle large scale batch and streaming data challenges.
• The team is responsible for ingesting over 100 billion analytics events daily into a data warehouse that handles over 55,000 queries each day.
• The role involves leading the design and creation of the Snapshot product to deliver high-quality data to partners.
• The engineer will collaborate with various teams to develop and execute strategies ensuring data quality and consistency at scale.
• Daily responsibilities include contributing to the long-term strategy of the team, refining data infrastructure technologies for real-time processing, owning tools for data ingestion and storage, and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of coding experience in a production environment, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Go, or Java is necessary.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
• Experience with tools and technologies such as Terraform, Helm, Kafka, CDC, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD is essential.
