Description:
Reddit, a community of communities, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Data Infrastructure team in San Francisco, CA.
The role involves solving large-scale batch and streaming data challenges to support Reddit's mission of bringing community and belonging to everyone.
The team manages over 100B analytics events daily, ingesting them into a data warehouse with 55,000+ daily queries and utilizing the data for batch and streaming purposes.
Responsibilities include refining and maintaining data infrastructure technologies, owning the data pipeline, and mentoring other engineers.
The position requires collaboration with various teams like machine learning, Ads, and product to create scalable, fault-tolerant systems and ensure high data quality.
Requirements:
7+ years of coding experience in a production setting with clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages like Scala, Python, Go, or Java.
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
Experience working with Terraform, Helm, Flink, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
