Remote Staff Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure

Description:

• Reddit, a community of communities, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Data Infrastructure team in San Francisco, CA.
• The role involves solving large-scale batch and streaming data challenges to support Reddit's mission of bringing community and belonging to everyone.
• The team manages over 100B analytics events daily, ingesting them into a data warehouse with 55,000+ daily queries and utilizing the data for batch and streaming purposes.
• Responsibilities include refining and maintaining data infrastructure technologies, owning the data pipeline, and mentoring other engineers.
• The position requires collaboration with various teams like machine learning, Ads, and product to create scalable, fault-tolerant systems and ensure high data quality.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of coding experience in a production setting with clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages like Scala, Python, Go, or Java.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
• Experience working with Terraform, Helm, Flink, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
