Description:

  • Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Data Infrastructure/Data Products team in Seattle, WA.
  • The role involves solving large-scale batch and streaming data challenges within Reddit's community of communities.
  • The team manages over 100B analytics events daily, ingesting data into a data warehouse with 55,000+ daily queries.
  • Responsibilities include leading the design of the Snapshot product for delivering high-quality data, ensuring data quality and consistency at scale, and refining data infrastructure technologies.
  • The position also involves mentoring engineers, collaborating with various teams, and contributing to the long-term strategy of the organization.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of coding experience in a production setting with clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Scala, Go, or Java.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
  • Experience with tools such as Terraform, Helm, Kafka, CDC, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
