Description:

  • Automox is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Data Platforms to lead data architecture initiatives and collaborate across engineering teams to deliver features.
  • The role involves shaping data for product analysis, dashboards, reports, and the product console used by customers.
  • Responsibilities include designing, building, implementing, and documenting data models, as well as shipping data pipelines for real-time streaming and batch processing.
  • The engineer will optimize data transformation pipelines to enhance freshness and reduce computational time and cost.
  • Support for the production SaaS application stack and platform is also required.
  • The position offers an opportunity to mentor and develop other engineers in strong data practices and design principles.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 10+ years of experience with ETL architecture, including standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Commercial experience in Data Engineering and/or Analytics Engineering, specifically in building scalable data warehouses, is required.
  • Proficiency in Dimensional Modeling and advanced API & Data skills (SQL and NoSQL) is necessary.
  • Experience with Data Engineering tooling for ingesting, testing transformations, lineage, orchestration, and publishing data is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience implementing real-time stream and batch data pipelines at scale with tight SLOs and complex transformation requirements.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills are needed, demonstrated by successful large-scale projects across multiple teams.
  • An aptitude for product data analysis, dashboarding, and reporting is important.
  • Proficiency in data architecture and modeling concepts, with the ability to coach and influence others, is required.
  • Candidates should be resilient, resourceful, and thrive in ambiguous situations, embracing change.
  • Independent thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for handling complex challenges.
