Description:

  • The Data Snapshot team at Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to tackle large-scale batch and streaming data challenges.
  • Reddit, a platform with over 100,000 active communities and approximately 82M+ daily active unique visitors, aims to foster community and belonging worldwide.
  • The hired engineer will lead the design and development of the Snapshot product to deliver high-quality data to partners.
  • Responsibilities include refining and maintaining data infrastructure technologies, owning tools for data ingestion and storage, and mentoring other engineers.
  • The role involves contributing to the team's long-term strategy and ensuring data quality and consistency at scale.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of coding experience in a production setting with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Scala, Go, or Java.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience working with technologies such as Terraform, Helm, Kafka, CDC, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
