The Data Snapshot team at Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to tackle large-scale batch and streaming data challenges.
Reddit, a platform with over 100,000 active communities and approximately 82M+ daily active unique visitors, aims to foster community and belonging worldwide.
The hired engineer will lead the design and development of the Snapshot product to deliver high-quality data to partners.
Responsibilities include refining and maintaining data infrastructure technologies, owning tools for data ingestion and storage, and mentoring other engineers.
The role involves contributing to the team's long-term strategy and ensuring data quality and consistency at scale.
Requirements:
7+ years of coding experience in a production setting with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
Proficiency in programming languages like Scala, Go, or Java.
A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience working with technologies such as Terraform, Helm, Kafka, CDC, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
