Description:
The Staff Software Engineer - DevEx will be responsible for developing automations, optimizing costs, and improving the developer experience.
The role ensures that the environment is scalable, resilient, and efficient.
Key responsibilities include developing automations and infrastructure as code (IaC) using GitOps, AWX, and Terraform for a standardized and easily maintainable environment.
The engineer will guarantee the resilience and observability of engineering tools using Prometheus, Grafana, and on-call monitoring.
Improving the developer experience with efficient tools, optimized pipelines, and simplified processes for deployment and monitoring is essential.
Implementing FinOps practices to optimize infrastructure costs, aiming for a 15 to 30% reduction in AWS costs using Karpenter, KEDA, and autoscaling is required.
Standardizing the observability stack to ensure the availability of metrics, logs, and traces for troubleshooting and performance tuning is necessary.
The role involves working with Cloud-Native and DevOps technologies, including Istio, Kong, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and HashiCorp Vault, ensuring security and scalability.
Collaboration with engineering teams to define deployment, security, and governance standards is expected.
Requirements:
Candidates must have solid experience with AWS and Kubernetes, including KEDA and Karpenter.
A deep understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and AlertManager is required.
Experience in automation and IaC with Terraform, AWX, and GitOps is essential.
Knowledge of distributed systems architecture, service mesh, and API security (Istio, Kong, HashiCorp Vault) is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in DevEx and improving tools/processes for development.
Familiarity with messaging and event-driven architectures (Kafka and RabbitMQ) is required.
Strong expertise in FinOps with a focus on optimizing AWS costs is essential.
The ability to solve complex infrastructure problems while ensuring resilience and high availability is necessary.
Candidates must possess the ability to collaborate with teams, promoting technical maturity and best practices.
