Remote Staff Software Engineer, DevOps and Security

Description:

• Owner.com is seeking a visionary Staff-level Developer Ops and Security Engineer to lead efforts in integrating security throughout development processes.
• The role involves implementing "shift-left" security strategies to prevent vulnerabilities early in the development lifecycle.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines with automated security testing, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, and enhancing cloud security posture.
• The Staff Engineer will collaborate with technology teams to integrate security best practices, mentor team members on DevSecOps practices, and foster a culture of security-first thinking.
• The position is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
• The technology stack includes Node.js, Mongo, AWS for backend, and React, Next.js, Vue, and Typescript for frontend.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of DevOps experience with a strong focus on security practices and principles.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR), and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience in implementing and managing security tools for vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, and secrets management.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record of leading and implementing DevSecOps initiatives in fast-paced environments.
