As a Staff Software Engineer on the Ground Control Team, you will construct the architecture, platform, and tools necessary for a scalable, reliable, observable, and performant microservices ecosystem.
The Ground Control team focuses on reducing complexity and accelerating the velocity of the engineering organization through engineering-driven initiatives.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the technical infrastructure for EnergyHub's microservices, standardizing software development practices, and preparing legacy applications for microservices architecture.
You will collaborate with product managers, internal engineering teams, and stakeholders to drive high-impact projects and contribute to best practices for CI/CD and iterative development.
Mentoring and supporting other engineers while fostering a strong technical culture is also a key aspect of this role.
Requirements:
A minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with prior staff-level responsibilities, is required.
A passion for automation and building resilient products is essential.
Proficiency in Java (preferably Java 11+) and experience with at least one scripting language, such as Python3, is necessary.
The ability to work across team boundaries to identify and solve pain points affecting engineering velocity, system resilience, and performance is crucial.
Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to balance multiple use cases while enabling flexibility are required.
