Description:
Jobber is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Expansion Team, which focuses on empowering users to make informed decisions for their business success.
The role involves leading and mentoring teams of engineers while collaborating with Product and Design partners to address complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features, shaping the product roadmap, leading large-scale initiatives, participating in code reviews, and promoting best practices.
The position requires effective communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences and providing mentorship to team members.
The work environment is flexible, allowing employees to work remotely across Canada or in a hybrid setting from offices in Edmonton or Toronto.
Requirements:
Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in developing scalable software solutions across multiple technology stack layers.
Proven leadership experience in guiding teams through complex projects and serving as a technical lead is essential.
Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding, focusing on maintainability and performance, is required.
Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are necessary to enhance team productivity through mentorship.
Strong self-motivation and resourcefulness, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks effectively, are important.
A passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends is expected.
Experience with the development stack, including React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, and Ruby on Rails on AWS, is preferred.
Experience leading cross-team initiatives and projects would be a plus.
