Description:
Acquia is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the AI Services team, focusing on building applications and APIs around AI to enhance the digital experience platform (DXP).
The role requires innovation, collaboration, and an agile mindset, with a critical ability to quickly prototype, learn, and iterate on concepts.
Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, drafting RFCs, leading discussions for solution design, and contributing to coding, PR reviews, documentation, and automated tests.
The engineer will ensure compliance with coding, operations, and security best practices, participate in experimentation and prototype building, and contribute to the core architectural platform.
The role involves mentoring team members, collaborating with the architecture team, and ensuring software systems meet contractual RTO and RPO requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a continuous learner, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of balancing critical thinking with creative problem-solving.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL.
A minimum of 1+ years of experience working with artificial intelligence is required.
Experience in writing and consuming REST APIs, managing applications in a Kubernetes environment, and using Git is essential.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), and writing automated tests is necessary.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of software design principles, programming languages, and frameworks, along with strong knowledge of software development security principles.
A strong understanding of software architecture and the trade-offs between different architectural patterns is required.
Nice to have qualifications include experience with Snowflake, writing SaaS applications in a distributed microservice ecosystem, and working with Elasticsearch or other NoSQL data stores.
