Remote Staff Software Engineer, Front-End

Description:

• Tangelo is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Experience Team within the Platform Department, focusing on building a unified experience for members.
• The role involves collaborating with engineers, researchers, designers, and product professionals to design and implement key components of the product and platform.
• Responsibilities include leading the technical planning, design, and requirements process, reviewing code for correctness and security, and providing mentorship to junior team members.
• The engineer will work on improving the performance and maintainability of the codebase, drive operational excellence through better monitoring and alerting, and communicate effectively across teams and time zones.
• The position requires demonstrating sound business judgment and the ability to influence others in making business and technical decisions.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, specifically in building various front-end applications.
• Strong practical coding skills in React or similar front-end frameworks/technologies are required, along with expertise in service-oriented architectures.
• A customer-first mindset is essential, ensuring that the end-user is prioritized in every decision.
• Experience in product development with a focus on creating robust, scalable, accessible, and user-friendly solutions is necessary.
• Candidates should have 0-to-1 experience, with a strong inclination towards quick shipping, iterative learning, and maintaining high quality.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams is required.
• Preferred skills include experience with REST or GRPC APIs, deployment, monitoring, and alerting of systems, and familiarity with HIPAA-compliant environments.
