Remote Staff Software Engineer - Frontend

Description:

• Descript is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend to help refine and expand their next-generation web-based, collaborative audio and video editing tool.
• The engineer will collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver a high-quality user experience.
• Responsibilities include developing and refining front-end architecture, working alongside AI researchers, iterating on media editing paradigms, and pushing the web browser to its limits.
• The tech stack includes Typescript, React/Redux, Node.js, WebAssembly, WebCodecs, WebGL, and WebAudio for real-time rendering and compositing.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Industry experience in a frontend software engineering role is required.
• Proficiency in programming languages and frontend frameworks, especially Typescript/Javascript/React, is necessary.
• Strong communication skills, pride in delivering high-quality features, and a desire to take ownership and constantly learn and improve are essential.
• Nice to have: experience building creative tools and optimizing single-page web applications (SPAs).
